Mr. Chairman, I have an amendment at the desk. The CHAIR. The Clerk will designate the amendment. The text of the amendment is as follows: Add at the end the following new section: SEC. 3. STUDY. (a) In General.--Not later than the end of the 60-day period beginning on the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of the Treasury shall begin a study to identify what aspects of the Home Affordable Modification Program were successful and most effectively carried out the original purpose of the Program. (b) Report.--Not later than the end of the 6-month period beginning on the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary shall issue a report to the Congress containing-- (1) all findings and determinations made in carrying out the study required under subsection (a); and (2) legislative recommendations for a new mortgage modification program that could more successfully and effectively achieve the original purpose of the Home Affordable Modification Program.
