“There are a number of other amendments that I offered to H.R. 2728. One would have made it clear that the deference accorded to State law under section 44 of the bill applied only to fracking operations conducted on State lands but not to Federal lands. This was a good amendment that did not make it. A number of amendments did not. Some of my amendments did, and I want to say thank you. But I believe we can work together for a national energy policy that works for all of us.
