I don't know why we are here this morning; I guess out of desperation. After 11 hours of trying to attack the former Secretary of State, now we come this morning to continue our attack on women and again to have Republicans address the Affordable Care Act that has, in my State, put a dent in some 25,000-plus who did not have health care. Today we stand here with a bill that repeals the individual responsibility requirements that people must have their own health care; repeals the Independent Payment Advisory Board, which focuses on making Medicare solvent for our seniors; and the Prevention and Public Health Fund, which supports evidence-based programs designed to keep Americans healthy, prevent chronic infectious diseases, and reduce future healthcare costs. Two days ago I was standing out in front of the United States Capitol calling out my State, the State of Texas, that about 3 days ago declared war on Planned Parenthood to close 39 different clinics. The SPEAKER pro tempore. The time of the gentlewoman has expired.

We chose to keep the government open today. The SPEAKER pro tempore. The gentlewoman is no longer recognized. ____________________
I could not help, with my good friend and colleague eloquently speaking about the children and the pain, to rise to the floor today, having just stood on the grounds of the United States Capitol, wondering why we have not been able to pass…
It is important that the food and drug is able to be funded, that housing is able to be funded, and that the Department of Agriculture is able to be funded. The SPEAKER pro tempore. The time of the gentlewoman has expired.
