Having better data and information has allowed the University of Texas to identify achievement gaps and to make improvements in areas that need reform. More accurate data on college participation and completion, for instance, can help to improve student outcomes, particularly for low-income students and students of color. In closing, I applaud Chairman Kline, Ranking Member Miller, and Ms. Foxx for working in a bipartisan manner to advance this legislation. I urge my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to vote in favor of H.R. 4983.
