I don't know. I mean, the Republican establishment is bringing all of the weight it can bear to drive him out of the race. One would hope it's because of these really offensive views and statements. But I have to say pragmatically, I think it's because they're scared they're going to lose the election, because if they really care about these issues, they would be working to change their party platform which really kind of reflects Congressman Akin's views a lot more than it reflects mainstream Americans.
