As a first-generation American, I know the importance of legal immigration to our Nation.

Due process is key. If we improved it we'd actually see fewer asylum seekers than we do now because they would not be here so long.

I believe the Trump Administration did get it wrong. Their approach was inhumane and ultimately ineffective.

This is an absolute disgrace. This problem can be solved very simply. Secure the damn border.

If fully funded our Nation would be able to hire 1,300 additional law enforcement officers at our southern border.

Today's historic border crisis is a policy crisis, not a funding crisis.

It's going to take an all hands on deck all of government approach and I am ready to roll up my sleeves.

It has gotten totally out of hand. It's ridiculous.

Elections have consequences. This one had a really grave consequence.

One of the first days of office is what the Biden Administration did was to rescind this policy that was working.

People who fear for their lives just aren't going to stop coming here.

And, regrettably, I believe this Administration has been derelict in its duty and its responsibility to protect the American people.
