If we do not give assistance I think the humanitarian disaster... will happen.

It is imperative that final transcripts from these interviews be made available to all members as soon as possible to inform our ongoing oversight of Afghanistan policy.

Oversight remains a critical component of our work but this work is more meaningful when the Administration can explain its priorities and perspectives directly to Congress at a hearing specifically for that purpose.

I want to be clear that my heart is with the people of Afghanistan who are suffering under the Taliban.

What troubles me is the Biden Administration is pursuing a policy of engagement at all costs and has failed to hold the Taliban to account for their crimes.

This is unacceptable and it shows the deeply flawed approach this Administration has taken since the Taliban regained control.

The Taliban who now control Afghanistan are terrorists who impose theocratic edicts to oppress the Afghan people.

This Administration's deadly and chaotic withdrawal was ill conceived from the very start.

This bill would dramatically increase and intensify the Homeland Security's efforts... to combat the trafficking of firearms and ammunition produced by American companies and exported over the Southern Border.

I believe that we cannot allow the politicization of any individual case or the security clearance investigation process broadly.

Inserting Congress into an ongoing investigation and requiring intrusive personal information about specific individuals... is not responsible oversight.

I have to oppose this measure because I believe it poses a risk of politicizing what should be an unbiased fact-driven process.

I urge my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to, you know, support this good governance issue.

We cannot operate effectively if the State Department is constantly trying to hide things.

This, in my judgment, is a good governance bill, one requiring transparency on behalf of the Administration.

This resolution expresses the House's support for the productive diplomatic engagement in support of IBWC's efforts to bring Mexico into compliance.

Let me repeat that. Mexico currently owes the United States nearly 600,000 acre feet of water.

I urge my colleagues to support this measure.

American farmers and ranchers need compliance with the letter and the spirit of the law.

This terror has to stop for the sake of the world and the Jewish people.

These hostages need to come home.

Congress must continue to call for the immediate unconditional release of the hostages.

Congress must make sure the stories of the hostages are known.

Congress must talk about the barbarism of Hamas on October 7 and condemn the attack, including the taking of hostages.

Congress must condemn Hamas every time we speak about what is happening in this conflict.
