The second leadership failure was the President's decision to dismantle America's counterterrorism policies.

Before 9/11, we failed to recognize the threat when it was right before our eyes.

I just think we are treating our allies different from a state sponsor of terror and I think that the American people, through its representatives, should be weighing in this deal.

I question the good faith here.

The more economically connected we become in Asia, the closer cooperation opens up in other areas like counterterrorism.

If we don't get TPP accomplished, it is just not an economic price that we pay.

TPP is our opportunity to move into the region in a free market direction and compete with China.

On March 4, 2015, your committee will hold a hearing titled 'Industry Perspectives on the President's Cybersecurity Information-Sharing Proposal.'

I think this raises serious risks and concerns and I think rightly so when the FBI is me telling that and agreeing with that as well.

I cannot support this authorization as presented by the administration.

The essential funding for the Department of Homeland Security is no place for the Majority to showboat against immigration reform that strengthens our economy and our country.

These investigations would be very important to not only fill in these security gaps, but protecting the American people.

This is the highest priority for the committee to get DHS reauthorized for the first time.

I have never seen a threat environment higher than I do today since 9/11.

The confluence of these challenges has placed a noticeable strain on our committee's resources.

Our committee is at the forefront of overseeing the U.S. Government's response to an alarming rise in homegrown and foreign terrorist threats.

This committee faces, I believe, continuous and growing resource constraints in light of the dynamic security threats, recent world events, and key national policy debates.

I would like to be engaged in the writing of the legislation and/or to find out more in an instructive manner, how do we stop the radicalization of our young people for something as heinous as what ISIS represents.

You know, it just baffles me how we can almost, like, talk out of both sides of our mouths and say that we want to make sure that the homeland is safe, but because of an issue you have with the Executive branch, we are going to play games…
