We have come to know that we Americans have a profound interest in the independence of men and women at home and men and women all around the world.
In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand this twentieth day of January in the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and sixty-nine and of the Independence of the United States of America the one hundred and ninety-third.
In that pursuit, Mr. President, United States support will be gladly given.
I hope to some day be able to come there and see you in your own land, in your own atmosphere.
