A person that Speaker Gingrich labeled a thug; as you referenced, the kind of rhetoric that unfortunately has too often characterized debates in this House. To now suggest, and I read the same article about his comments, that the approach that the Republicans, I believe all of the Republicans on the Senate Committee on Commerce endorsed, was too liberal, is an indication of how really extreme and controlled by the tobacco lobby the leadership of this House is. I know the gentleman from New Jersey shares my view that what we need with reference to tobacco is a genuinely conservative approach.
