it is against this background of false peace that today we are asked to focus entirely on alleged wrongdoing at the White House. For myself, I want a thorough and complete investigation of that alleged wrongdoing at the White House. In fact, we can investigate until our heart's content, so long as we apply the same level of scrutiny to this House that we apply to the White House. Indeed, I suggest to all of my colleagues that they remember the injunction that is found in chapter 6 of Luke when it was said, ``How canst thou say to thy brother, `Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye,' when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thy own eye. Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye and then shall thy see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.'' The problem today is that there seems to be a little bit more interest in pulling out ``motes'' than in focusing on the ``beams'' that are a little closer to home.
