Well, they have about the same chance of reviving the economy with this bill as they do reviving the dead. Then they parade out the horribles of all the people across America that are subject to the estate tax--all 2 percent of them--the family farms being shut down, the small businesses unable to continue. We Democrats come forward and say, let us get together now to resolve that problem. Let us proceed 8 months from now, in January, to repeal the estate tax for 77 percent of the small number of people that are even subject to the estate tax in this country. Let us eliminate it for small businesses and family farms and eliminate it promptly. The Republicans say, no, we do not want to do that.”
