we have had a monumental decision from the Supreme Court of the United States, and I have to say I am disappointed, because while the opinion is not very clear, in many respects, the result is clear, and that is we are getting ready to see one of the largest tax increases in the history of our country. We are all talking about the fact the Supreme Court has declared the Obama health care plan constitutional, but let's look at how it was declared constitutional. It was not based on the commerce powers of the Congress in the Constitution. It was based, instead, on taxing capabilities--the taxing power--of the Congress. I wish to read excerpts from an interview George Stephanopoulos did with President Obama. Under this mandate-- Stephanopoulos says-- the government is forcing people to spend money, fining you if you don't. How is that not a tax? President Obama replies: No. That's not true, George. For us to say that you've got to take a responsibility to get health insurance is absolutely not a tax increase. Stephanopoulos goes on later to say: But you reject that it's a tax increase? President Obama replies: I absolutely reject that notion. Yet the Court today said this is constitutional because of Congress's power to tax.…
