Joe Barton is a former Republican member of the United States House of Representatives, representing Texas's 6th congressional district from 1985 to 2019. During his tenure, Barton served as the chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, where he played a significant role in shaping energy policy and telecommunications legislation. He was known for his advocacy of fossil fuel interests and his support for deregulation in the energy sector.
I wish we had a copy of that to show school children what America is all about.
Last year, the House unanimously passed H.R. 1580 declaring it the policy of the United States to preserve and advance the multi-stakeholder model that governs the Internet.
I believe that transparency is imperative during this process, and I am happy to be an original cosponsor of the DOTCOM Act of 2014.
We have the advantage, as a subcommittee, that we know now what happened in the past.
If a part doesn't meet the specification, why in the world would you not refuse it and only accept a part that meets the specification?
