Mr. Chairman, my amendment would require States to provide a blueprint for college and career counseling opportunities for homeless youth. This is a bipartisan amendment. In fact, I want to thank very much Mr. Stivers of Ohio and his staff who were very helpful in drafting this amendment. We know that there are an estimated 1.6 million homeless youth and runaways in this country, and we also know that they are especially vulnerable to falling through the cracks of our educational system. This would simply ask States to show how they are going to help these youth with career and college readiness. Mr. Chairman, I yield 1 minute to the gentleman from Colorado (Mr. Polis), my colleague.
