Mr. Chairman, I have an amendment at the desk. The Acting CHAIR. The Clerk will designate the amendment. The text of the amendment is as follows: Page 40, after line 3, insert the following: ``(8) Ombudsman for textbook standards.--The Secretary shall appoint an ombudsman who is dedicated to overseeing and resolving State disputes on textbooks standards for K-12 grade levels in order to ensure that States are held accountable for upholding the highest academic standards for K-12 textbooks.''. The Acting CHAIR. Pursuant to House Resolution 125, the gentleman from Texas (Mr. Castro) and a Member opposed each will control 5 minutes. The Chair recognizes the gentleman from Texas.
