The text of the amendment is as follows: Page 40, after line 3, insert the following: ``(8) Ombudsman for textbook standards.--The Secretary shall appoint an ombudsman who is dedicated to overseeing and resolving State disputes on textbooks standards for K-12 grade levels in order to ensure that States are held accountable for upholding the highest academic standards for K-12 textbooks.''.
