“My amendment is a commonsense amendment that ensures no taxpayers dollars will be used to purchase first-class tickets for employees of agencies funded by this bill except in special circumstances as allowed under law. This is, again, important because it does prohibit unapproved first-class travel and offers a direct method of guidance by referencing the Code of Federal Regulations to prohibit this type of premium travel for Federal employees. I think the chairman is in agreement with me that this is a way to save taxpayer dollars, and he's in agreement with this amendment.”
