Maybe we could be talking about those things if we are going to be talking about sports.

I want to take a step back and think about the big picture of what we have been talking about in this Committee hearing when we talk about trans youth participating in sports.
Instead of talking about how to support all of our youth, especially our most vulnerable youth, people in my state, like Greg Abbott, have used their government power to pick on trans kids.
I, for one, am grateful we have an independent judicial system where a President's son or a former President, like Trump, can be investigated and prosecuted if they violate the law.
This double standard insults the institutions of Congress that people fought and died to build.
The Inflation Reduction Act passed by Democrats in the Congress signed by President Biden, one, empowered the executive branch to negotiate drug prices paid by Medicare, and two, use those savings to cap out-of-pocket costs.
Negotiating drug prices, it is going to reduce the deficit and save seniors money.
To me, that shows, and this hearing shows how there being so much self-interest in the system can hurt the patient's interest and that this is something we have to reform at all levels.
The Republican Majority is hurdling toward shutting down basic services for people across the country in just 2 weeks.
