I could not disagree more with this really kind-of wild Republican idea of the so-called 'Equal Representation Act,' which would only count certain in this country in complete violation of the Fourteenth Amendment.

It is so important for the American people to understand and hear that this idea of a citizenship question would undercount people, would result in fewer Federal resources come into places like Texas.
I would argue that this is not just a Texas issue, in that neighboring states badly need the power.
I want to start off by thanking you and the Department of Energy for putting millions of dollars toward electric reliability in Texas.
I think that the vast majority of Texans would agree that grid connection and fixing the grid should overcome those sort of smaller level politics.
We need experienced professionals in government, not professional bootlickers.
If this Schedule F plan goes into effect and thousands of people have to be replaced every administration, then we will continue to see and hear from officials complaining about why it is that agencies cannot accomplish their goals.
We already hear of backlogs, of trouble hiring up, and why would we, when we already have vacancies in these key agencies, purposefully create thousands of more vacancies?
When people hear 'government,' they usually think of people like us in this room, politicians who run in elections and work on policy...
mitigate staffing shortages by hiring, training, and certifying technical staff to be ready to assume those critical radar maintenance duties as technicians retire.
