Today I announced the recess appointment of Otto J. Reich to be an Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs.

It shows what can happen when people say, 'I'm proud of my political party, but I'm more proud of my country.'

This is a good jobs creation bill.

I'm here to sign this bill, and it's a very important piece of legislation.

Environmental protection and economic growth can go on together.

We are returning common sense to our cleanup program.

My concern, of course, is for the shareholders of Enron.

This cause is noble, and this cause is just.

If the war against terror means that we must find terror wherever it exists and pull it out by its roots and bring people to justice, our military must have the means to achieve the objective.

One of the things we're deeply concerned about is that there have been a wave of bankruptcies that have caused many workers to lose their pensions, and that's deeply troubling to me.

I am most appreciative, sir, of your strong stand against terror.
