Each agency shall ensure that the management of historic properties in its ownership is conducted in a manner that promotes the long-term preservation and use of those properties.

Our enemies can strike anywhere in America, and we must be ready to respond in a coordinated way.

I call upon all the people of the United States to observe this month with appropriate ceremonies and activities and to remember throughout the year the many contributions of American women.

Yours is a vital and important step in reorganizing our Government to meet the threats of a new era.

The Secretary shall develop, submit for review to the Homeland Security Council, and administer a National Incident Management System (NIMS).

Homeland security is a shared responsibility.

The Federal Government recognizes the roles and responsibilities of State and local authorities in domestic incident management.

We must understand and correct our vulnerabilities.

We're determined to do everything in our power to defeat this enemy and to defend our people.

I call upon all Americans to observe this month by learning about and commemorating the contributions of Irish Americans to our Nation.

The world changed on September the 11th, 2001.

We're protected by daily vigilance at home.

The objective of the United States Government is to ensure that all levels of government across the Nation have the capability to work efficiently and effectively together, using a national approach to domestic incident management.

As we celebrate this month, I call upon all citizens to become partners in preparedness with their local Red Cross chapters.
