Our system of national parks and forests is a trust given to every generation of Americans.

I pledge to spend $4.9 billion over 5 years on needed work and maintenance in our national park areas.

The Congress must complete work on this bill.

Fire professionals and forest and park rangers agree, by thinning overgrown forests we will reduce the risk of catastrophic fire and restore the health of forest ecosystems.

God designed this park's beauty, but men and women make sure it remains beautiful.

I'm calling on Congress to spend $5 billion over the next 5 years.

It's the park of every person who lives in America.

The parks are owned by the people of this country.

We're changing the culture of America from one that has said, 'If it feels good, do it,' and 'If you've got a problem, blame somebody else,' to a culture in which each of us understands we are responsible for the decisions we make in life.

I want to thank all of them for how they dealt with a very difficult situation.

I have committed nearly $2.9 billion towards reducing an estimated $4.9 billion maintenance backlog at National Parks.

I came to this office to solve problems, not to pass them on to future presidents or future generations.

A compassionate society must promote opportunity for every citizen, including the independence and dignity that come from ownership.

We are providing National Parks with additional funding necessary to care for land and facilities.

We expect results in return for Federal money in every classroom in America so that not one child is left behind.

I understand whose money we spend in Washington. It is not the Government's money; it is the people's money.

I happen to think it [the grid] does and have said so all along.

We will stay there until the job is done.

This Nation is grateful for the sacrifice and service you make.

This country cares deeply about those who are willing to sacrifice on its behalf.

What your loved one is doing is the right thing for the country.

We have a special obligation in Liberia to help with humanitarian aid, and therefore, we will.

I fully understand that their lives will not be normal for the short run and hope that they continue to cope with this in a manner that they have done so far.

This administration is firmly committed and will constantly strive to promote an ownership society in America.

The first thing that I think Americans ought to be pleased about is the fact that we're better organized today than we were 2 1/2 years ago to deal with an emergency.
