George W. Bush is the 43rd President of the United States, serving from January 20, 2001, to January 20, 2009. A member of the Republican Party, he previously served as the Governor of Texas from January 17, 1995, until December 21, 2000. His presidency was marked by significant events, including the September 11 attacks in 2001 and the subsequent wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Bush's domestic policies included tax cuts, education reform, and Medicare prescription drug benefits.
The ultimate success in Iraq is for the Iraqis to secure their country.
Our country is also safer because of the historic changes that have come around the world in places like Afghanistan.
I transmit herewith the 'U.S. Ocean Action Plan,' a report and statement of proposals prepared by the Council on Environmental Quality in response to the Commission on Ocean Policy's final recommendations.
It shall be the policy of the United States to coordinate the activities of executive departments and agencies regarding ocean-related matters.
The Act strengthens the intelligence and counterterrorism capabilities of the United States.
I have signed into law S. 2845, the 'Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004'.
The executive branch shall construe provisions of the Act that purport to require consultation with the Congress as calling for, but not mandating, such consultation.
People who own something have a stake in the future of their country.
I strongly believe that the role of Government is to create an environment that encourages capital flows and job creation through wise fiscal policy.
This is a priority issue for not only me but for a lot of people in the Senate.
I told him we're going to take this issue on seriously with the Congress.
Excessive regulations can prevent the creation and growth of new small businesses and the jobs they create.
We need to ensure that every student graduates from high school with the skills and knowledge to succeed in college and the workplace.
