I fully recognize that's not going to end the war.

It is their country, and it is incumbent upon us to do everything we can to help them succeed.

Success in Iraq will depend upon the capacity of the new Government to provide for its people.

What you're doing is important, that democracy in Iraq is not only important to the 12 million people that went to the polls and their families, but democracy in Iraq is important in the war on terror.

It was a major blow to Al Qaida and the killers and terrorists.

This government at all levels takes seriously the mission that's happening there.

Together, we can continue to advance the ideals of liberty and justice that make our country strong.

This week, they got their man.

This was a good week for the cause of freedom.

Instead, Zarqawi died in the free and democratic Iraq that he fought so hard to prevent, and the world is better off because this violent man will never kill again.

The work ahead will require more sacrifice and the continued patience of the American people.

There's still difficult work ahead in Iraq.

Yet this week, the ideology of terror has suffered a severe blow.

The killing of Zarqawi is an important victory in the global war on terror.

Iraqis can be justly proud of their new Government and its early steps to improve their security.

Zarqawi personally beheaded American hostages and other civilians in Iraq.

I appreciate the Prime Minister's belief that freedom can help change the world and that freedom is universal.

I want to assure—I assured the Prime Minister that they'll be dealt with.

I assured him that we would like to end the Guantanamo.

I believe there's genocide taking place, and I believe we have a responsibility to work together to bring some security to the poor folks that are being harassed and raped and murdered in the far reaches of Darfur.

If I didn't think we would succeed, I wouldn't stay.

Zarqawi was bin Laden's main advocate.

I'm thrilled that Zarqawi was brought to justice.
