George H.W. Bush was the 41st President of the United States, serving from January 20, 1989, to January 20, 1993. A member of the Republican Party, he previously held the office of Vice President under Ronald Reagan from 1981 to 1989. Bush was a World War II veteran and served in various roles within the U.S. government, including as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency from 1976 to 1977. His presidency is noted for significant events such as the Gulf War and the fall of the Berlin Wall, as well as his efforts in foreign policy and international diplomacy.
In order to want to fight and win the war, it requires an expenditure of money.
We're pressing Iraqi's leaders to take bold measures to save their country. We're making it clear that America's patience is not unlimited.
The benchmarks will make it more likely we win. Withdrawing on an artificial timetable means we lose.
If I did not think our mission in Iraq was vital to America's security, I would bring our troops home tomorrow.
I know many Americans are not satisfied with the situation in Iraq. I'm not satisfied either.
The voters out there need to ask the question which political party will support the brave men and women who wear our uniform, when they do their job of protecting America.
Stay the course is -- is about a quarter right. Stay the course means keep doing what you're doing. My attitude is, don't do what you're doing, if it's not working. Change.
If we get intelligence that they're about to transfer a nuclear weapon, we would stop the transfer. And we would deal with the ships that were taking the -- or the airplane that was dealing with taking the material to somebody.
For the sake of the security of the United States of America, we must defeat the enemy in Iraq.
