Thank you, Mr. Chairman. I want to thank the members of the panel and the men and women who work in the agencies that you represent for the work that all of you do, work that is critical in ensuring that El Paso remains the country's safest city; work that is important in protecting and enhancing our way of life as one of the world's largest binational communities, and absolutely work that is absolutely critical to protecting the economy.

This state, under Greg Abbott, has moved so far away from everything that matters to all of us that there is going to be a price to pay. And we`re going to see that in him being defeated in this election in November.
When we beat him on the night of November 8th, we set a far different, better, brighter course not just for Texas, but given this state’s outsized influence on American politics, we’ll do it for the United States of America, as well.
This total abortion ban, without exception for rape or incest -- one of the most extreme laws in this country, is not a reflection of who we are in the state of Texas.
