“I rise again and again in support of a comprehensive energy legislation, and I will continue to stand as long as it takes for us to have a sane energy policy to make our economy stronger and more secure in the short- and the medium term. Energy-producing States actually have a stronger interest in energy production, but consuming States need to realize that the U.S. energy market, gasoline, natural gas and electricity, does not develop by magic. It takes exploration, production, refining, pipelines. What we need to do is address something on a short- and medium term.”
