I want to thank Chairman Mast for his leadership continuing to hold the Biden Administration's feet to the fire on one of the biggest strategic failures in American history.

I find it tragic that the other side keeps going back to the previous Administration when we know that during that Administration the Taliban did not gain massive ground because they know he'd have bombed them into oblivion.

The one thing that we know is that when we deploy out, whoever does not come home with this is on us.

But once we telegraphed that we were going to leave and the pressure was then put on the Afghan military it was clear that that increasingly lethal Taliban were going to have a serious effect.

Censorship at the behest of a dictatorial, human-rights-violating regime is bad enough.

Look. This is nonsensical. The bill is very specifically targeted to movies made, you know, for the Chinese market.

This is simply a poison pill. And it is probably coming from the studios that want to continue to let the CCP, you know, tell them what to do so that they can get access to taxpayer funding to make their profit.

Again, a point of order. This bill does not stop any film from being made. It just stops taxpayer support.

American liberty is not for sale.

This is comical. I get it. But this is about Chinese Communist Party telling Hollywood, 'You have got to move this or change this,' and taxpayer dollars are involved with the movie.

Tyranny has no respect for borders. The Chinese Communist Party is exporting its totalitarian censorship to Hollywood.

I oppose the amendment because it basically undoes the whole point of the bill.

If it makes money it does not matter that if we are advancing China's propaganda?

How does it benefit the United States if we are advancing CCP propaganda?

We do need some extreme solutions. We need to coordinate with Mexico. We need to get it right.

We will not stop until we get to the bottom of it and the problem gets fixed, period.

The Democrats are on record, they think this Homeland Security Committee, its investigation of the border, the oversight of the border is embarrassing.

The mass migration is secondary to the policies of this administration, period.

I hope the media is paying attention. Americans are dying and the left is saying our committees investigating this as an embarrassment.

It is not racist to say we have a problem at our Southern Border.

The crisis is a direct result of DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas' dereliction of duty.

It is with steadfast commitment that I stand before you today, knowing that there can be no appeasement or reasoning with this evil.

My Democrat colleagues have said it is a waste of time to look into cartel crime.

Last thing, without border security, we have no country.

The drug cartels will continue to take advantage of it, just like Merrick Garland said.
