Political Quotes

I rise in opposition to the bill itself. I think it will be another foot in the door if it passes to do away with all guns, any brand, any kind whatsoever. I think the American people are entitled by the second amendment of the Constitution to bear arms. I oppose the measure on its final vote and urge my colleagues to do likewise. I said on the floor when the Brady bill was up that I believed we would have other measures before us to ban any kind of guns and weapons. These assault weapons are used by many people for target practice, sports competitions, collections, and for other good purposes. It is a shame and a disgrace to kill anybody, and I do not condone that, nobody does. Again I urge my colleagues to vote ``no'' on the final passage of this measure.
