I want to thank Chairman Hunter and Ranking Member Skelton for bringing this resolution to honor the men and women who are serving. I happen to represent in my district Fort Bragg and Polk, the two bases that are called the 911 posts in this country. Thousands of those men and women are now stationed around the world. But in addition to what has been said, let me talk about a group of young folks who have not been spoken about today and that is the children of these men and women that have been deployed. They watch TV every night. They hear the stories. Our school personnel deal with them every day. They deserve our help each and every day. They deserve that we do the right thing as we honor the men and women who are serving. As we start our appropriations processes later, we have the obligation to make sure that the children of these men and women are taken care of, because they face some difficult times and our school personnel deal with them on a daily basis with many of the traumas that they face. Mr. Speaker, I thank the gentlemen for the resolution and encourage it to my colleagues.
