I think it comes to a time that we have to make up our mind, are we going to have a debate? Are we going to have a vote on campaign finance reform? I think I have waited long enough. I think most of the other Members have. You turn on TV, you listen to the radio, you read the newspaper, and the entire country is talking about campaign finance reform. They are not just talking about what has happened at the White House. They are talking about what has happened in all congressional districts, in all States in the United States. They know what other countries have done when it comes to campaign finance reform, and they know what we have not done in the United States of America. And the American people know the influence of big money on political campaigns. It has gotten to the point in time where people buy elections. They do not earn elections anymore. They buy elections. We also know the disparity of income between the haves and the have-nots. We know that that is growing daily. We know that the middle class is being squeezed now.
