I have a very keen interest in what is taking place at Fort Bliss.

I wanna see if there are any outstanding issues that I need to know about that or that our people in the city need to know about.

I am really pleased to know that we have a Secretary dedicated to ensuring that veterans receive quality healthcare.

Madam Secretary, you just don't care much about civil rights of black and brown children. This is horrible.

This directive was really to ensure that students of color are not subject to the harsher disciplines and practices.

Should the President's view prevail in arming teachers, do you see why black and brown students are really worried and anxious about this?

But you are still cutting their budget, Madam Secretary. And that is going to mean that we will have less civil rights enforcement for students of color.

But you are robbing Peter to pay Paul in many of these budget items, in terms of, say, opportunity grants not being authorized.

That is not acceptable when you look at the huge expulsion and suspension rates and what is taking place in terms of racial bias in our public schools.

But you are saying that; your policies and your budget show differently.

We know that school discipline practices disproportionally impact black and Latino students.

For the same infraction, black and brown students are disciplined and expelled at a much higher rate.

The administration's own budget justification indicates that this program exceeds its performance measures.

I believe that this budget does decimate public education. But let's talk about, for a minute, institutional racism and racial discrimination and what this budget says about students of color. For me, it is a slap in the face.

The Trump Administration has advocated for arming teachers, yet all credible research we have shows that more guns lead to more accidents.

I was disturbed by your appearance on '60 Minutes'... where you admitted that you have not visited underperforming schools.

But you are cutting it by $43,000,000.

I do not know if you understand what these cuts are going to do to communities of color and people of color because we have huge disparities in healthcare.

But with these cuts now, I am concerned that we are going to turn back the clock.

I do not know if you know it or not, but we have been selected, the United States, as the site for the 2020 International AIDS Conference.

Cuts to the NIH or even level funding is not an option.

The President seems to think healthcare is a game. He is toying with the lives of Americans.

Trying to eliminate them is just one of the ways this Administration is harming women's health.

The Federal tip minimum wage has been stuck at about $2.13 an hour for about 25 years.

The majority of people who receive SNAP benefits are already working and that two-thirds of individuals who receive SNAP are children, seniors, and the disabled.
