“I actually believe that there are at least 25 percent of the Republican caucus in the Senate who support campaign reform. I just wish they would express themselves, as I know the House already has, in that regard. As I talk to colleagues on the other side of the aisle, they tell me they are supportive of it. They tell me they understand we need to see some change. I just hope that some additional courageous Republican Senators will step forth and join us. All we need are 60 votes; we already have 45 Democratic Senators. As the Senator from Wisconsin knows, we already have several Republican Senators who have expressed support and are willing to continue to support our effort. So a dozen or so additional Republican Senators would put us over the top.”
