Rhetoric is not enough. The Senate must do the right thing and pass the Norwood-Dingell provisions. You can't say it any more directly nor any more powerfully than that--whether it is the sponsors of the House-passed bipartisan bill, or whether it is those in the trenches on a daily basis who recognize the importance and the urgency of this issue and have asked us to address it posthaste, or whether it is the thousands of people out there being denied health care on a daily basis. The commitment we must make to those who are left in the lurch must be restated and reemphasized. The only way to restate and reemphasize our commitment to their need is to pass this bipartisan bill this afternoon as part of this vehicle.
