“To say that the senior Senator from Illinois, Senator Simon, has influenced us all is an understatement. Our dress today is a recognition of his influence on all of us and our great admiration for him personally. I would like to announce that following the vote many of us will participate in a tribute to Senator Simon. In the meantime, we will all enjoy wearing these great bow ties.”
