We are here in the last days of this session to make right the problem that has existed all too long. We want to make it right. The President wants to sign this legislation. Unfortunately, apparently with unanimity, every one of our Republican colleagues oppose this. We haven't heard one of them come to our position on this issue. I hope the Latino community understands that. I hope those who are concerned about fairness at the end of this session understand that. I hope they will do all they can to reflect their feelings and their opinions before it is too late. We still have time to do this. We still should do it this week. We ought to do it on this bill. I hope our Republican colleagues will reconsider.
