To remedy this situation, I hope France will renew its formal aviation relations with the United States by agreeing to a liberal air service agreement. As the Commission of the European Communities recent study on EC/US aviation relations recently warned, countries such as France with a restrictive air service policy place themselves at great economic risk as the wave of air service liberalization continues to sweep across Europe.
