It would have been a lot easier had prior administrations dealt with it before things got as far out of hand.

But the problem we have is, if we are not going to fix the big problem, which is the unfair trade practices, the abuse of intellectual property, now, when are we ever going to fix it?

The President's proposal to move forward with hundreds of billions of dollars in additional tariffs threatens to severely damage the ag industry.

This decision walks back an earlier announcement that the United States and China had reached a tentative deal.

The President feels, and I agree, that now is the time for action.

It appears that this situation is escalating rapidly.

I am increasingly concerned that the tariffs... are going to hurt American consumers and our domestic businesses.

China has been stealing our intellectual property and using unfair trade practices for far too long.

Some have criticized the Tax Court for restricting access to court documents, when similar documents are publicly available in cases being heard by Federal District and Circuit Courts.

I'm glad you agreed to appear today as a witness because I believe that your perspective in the gymnastics operations throughout the Nassar scandal and its aftermath makes your testimony especially valuable.

We have, perhaps as you know, put forward multiple policies that were signed into law this year that will reduce barriers to the use of technology in Medicare and promote telehealth in Medicare Advantage, in Accountable Care Organizations…

The use of that kind of telehealth actually helps in recruitment and retention of primary care providers.

I look forward to working with my colleagues on this committee in trying to advance solutions that will address many of these challenges.

We have a unique issue in South Dakota as well with our tribal communities, making sure that they have access to quality health-care services.

Attracting providers, of course, to rural areas is another challenge that we face.

We have, in my home State of South Dakota, lots of challenges in accessing health-care services in rural areas.

The numbers I have are that 91 percent of single taxpayers and 85½ percent of married couples filing jointly will fall below the deduction's income thresholds, that $157,500 and $315,000.

You would think that every provision in the new tax law is so fundamentally flawed that nobody is going to benefit.

I believe holds enormous potential for growth that we are just starting to see.

This is welcome news for the hardworking, middle-class families that we set out to benefit through tax reform.

The results are already impressive for a law that has only been in effect now for just over 4 months.
