The U.S. should maintain a safe, secure, and reliable nuclear deterrent for itself and its allies, and that this deterrent should be adequately funded and staffed with topnotch managers, scientists, and engineers.

We have two different requirements we have to meet: maintaining deterrence while at the same time working to decrease this threat of proliferation and nuclear terrorism.

The danger in Asia is at least as great as the danger in the Middle East.

I expect the DOD to explain to this committee how it is in our national security interest to auction off this vital spectrum.
