It is our responsibility on this Subcommittee to highlight, as we have in so many hearings, the issues important to the people we represent.

I want to commend my colleague, Congresswoman Fletcher, for her work in developing legislation that embodies this principle.

I am also encouraged by FERC's efforts to finally establish an Office of Public Participation, as well as efforts to prepare for and combat cyber attacks on our energy infrastructure.

We have all seen the stark reality, highlighted by the ongoing pandemic, that broadband is a necessity.
