Last week I came to this floor and stood in the well and called upon the Senate to do something, which was to take up this bill--this bill that had passed out of our subcommittee with tremendous bipartisan support and that passed out of this House with bipartisan support. It's something that went practically unnoticed nationwide, especially in the media. I ask the Senate to simply take this bill up because it was not only something that the House had supported on a bipartisan basis, but it was something that was actually part of the President's jobs bill as well. So, in the name of doing the right thing, I come to the House floor to thank the Senate for actually doing that. While they're at it, they might want to take this opportunity to take up the other 19 jobs bills that we've sent them over the course of the last several months. The Senate has done the right thing here. They've taken up a bill that the House has sent them, a bill that will actually give people the opportunity to go back to work. What has happened is that both parties have come together to try and figure out ways to give folks exactly that opportunity. That same possibility exists another 19 times over in the Senate. The Senate has done the right thing with this bill by passing it and by sending it back to us. It's going to become law now.…
