As someone who is still fairly new to the committee, and still fairly new to Congress, I hope that still strikes some people in addition to myself, that it is just patently absurd that the Securities and Exchange Commission is in charge of regulating conflict minerals.

No, never. Nor should they. That's an issue that was already litigated during the election. Voters knew the President could have given his tax returns, they knew that he didn't and they elected him anyway.
If there is one criticism that I would level against the President is he didn't hire very well.
What struck me, Anderson, was that he stayed on script almost the entire time.
I think the President probably should be coming to McCarthy's aid simply because the President is already associated with McCarthy, regardless what the President does in the next 24 or 48 hours.
