“The Everglades is an extraordinary ecosystem that travels south from the Kissimmee River through the Everglades and down to Florida Bay. The Everglades ecosystem supports south Florida's industries of tourism, fishing, and agriculture and special quality of life of over 6 million residents by providing water supply and recreational activities. The Federal Government has a direct vested interest in the Everglades ecosystem, which houses the Loxahatchee Refuge, and three national parks: Everglades National Park, Big Cypress National Park and Biscayne Bay National Park.”
