the people of Ohio have lost a dedicated public servant and genuine leader today with the passing of Congressman Paul Gillmor. As a colleague and friend in the House of Representatives, Paul was a strong voice for the needs and interests of the people he represented as well as a model of integrity. In addition to the almost 20 years he served as a Member of Congress and the two decades he spent in the Ohio State Senate, Paul was also a veteran of the United States Air Force serving on active duty during Vietnam. As a fellow member of the Republican Whip Team, I enjoyed sitting with Paul at the weekly meetings where he always was perceptive and provided insight from his decades of legislative service. Our thoughts and prayers are with Paul's family during these difficult times.
