Since that event, the U.S. military has been winning the war on terrorism, guided by the courageous leadership of President George W. Bush. Recognizing the true threat posed by the global network of terrorism who work closely with outlaw regimes, President Bush laid out a bold and decisive plan. America will not wait for another September 11 to occur before we take action to defend the American people. In the past 22 years, our men and women in uniform, backed by dozens of coalition allies, have ended the oppressive terrorist supporting regimes of the Taliban in Afghanistan and Saddam Hussein in Iraq.
