Mr. Speaker, each August, I look forward to an annual district bus tour, where I travel across all five counties of the Second Congressional District. During this time, I meet with constituents and hear their opinions about issues important to the families in South Carolina, along with my wife, Roxanne, and dedicated staff. This year, I was grateful to visit nearly 20 businesses, schools, civic clubs, and chambers of commerce. At each location, I took the opportunity to thank employees for their service and thank employers for their work creating jobs. I also took the opportunity to present Speaker Paul Ryan's positive policy agenda, ``A Better Way,'' that presents positive proposals for some of the greatest challenges facing our country. When I was elected to Congress, I pledged to be accessible and accountable, and this bus tour is one of many ways that I fulfill this promise. While I regularly visit with families, schools, and businesses in the Second District, I especially appreciate the nonstop tradition of visiting with the community I am humbled and inspired to represent. In conclusion, God bless our troops, and may the President, by his actions, never forget September the 11th in the global war on terrorism. ____________________
