On the recordNovember 4, 1997
I just want to address the gentleman from New Jersey saying that we had radical ideas. My wife is a public schoolteacher and a principal today. She has got a doctorate in education, a master's in business, and a master's in education. I was a teacher in the public education system. My children have gone to public schools. The last thing we want to do is hurt public education. But when we look at the position we are in in many of our schools, we do not want to deny children to get the same education as anyone else does in an education system. It is not a radical idea, it is an idea for the time.
