We know there's a problem. Many campaigned on fixing the culture of corruption here, but this bill is effectively window dressing. It puts the Senators in charge of determining whether or not we're doing the right thing. It's the fox-guarding-the-henhouse phenomenon.

The problem clearly came from loose credit policies that resulted in subprime mortgages and toxic securities.
It's good to see a little indignance here about a country arbitrarily slapping a tax on us and us trying to protect our own sovereign ability to make decisions.
