Although monetary policy is working to promote a more robust recovery, it cannot carry the entire burden of ensuring a speedier return to economic health.
The point here is to stimulate the economy, create some forward momentum in growth and employment.
We haven't had the recovery we would like, but certainly, monetary policy has contributed to growth and reduction of unemployment in the last 3 years.
We all agree that the burden of regulation falls particularly heavily on small community banks which don't have the resources to manage those regulations very effectively.
