Ben Bernanke: “Our goals are Main Street, our goals are jobs, our goals are low inflation.”

The economy needed help from Congress--if not from additional spending (on roads and bridges for example), then at least in areas such as retraining unemployed workers.

The potential of Artificial Intelligence is enormous, and so is the range of outcomes. How that potential plays out will depend, in part, on the institutions we build it around.

It is also important, of course, for community banks to be well-capitalized so that they can continue to lend during difficult periods.

I think it is consistent with our mandate and with our current policy to maintain price stability, and that is what we have been achieving.
